Managing an Evolving Shared Knowledge Repository: The Upgrade Process via Semantic Mediation
نویسندگان
چکیده
This research focuses on the problem of ontology change management in the context of evolving shared hierarchical knowledge repositories. We propose a framework for dealing with ontology evolution via semantic mediation. In particular we present a MultiAgent System (MAS) architecture that would be deployed to manage changes in shared ontologies such as update, deletion and renaming of classes in a dynamic environment. The proposed mediation process will be a mixed-initiative effort involving both intelligent agents and domain experts. The goal of this research is to extend the currently ongoing work in ontology evolution by including hierarchical ontology structures using semantic mediation. To validate this approach and to provide proof-of-concept, several tools have been used such as Jena and Protégé. We demonstrate how this multi-agent approach can enable ontology evolution and change management by using the JADE platform. Managing Ontology Change and Evolution via a Hybrid Matching Algorithm
In this paper, we present the problem of ontology evolution and change management. We provide a systematic approach to solve the problem by adopting a multi-agent system (MAS). The core of our solution is the Semantic Relatedness Score (SRS) which is an aggregate score of five well-tested semantic as well as syntactic algorithms. The focus of this paper is to resolve current problems related to...

Business applications composed of heterogeneous distributed components or Web services need mediation to resolve data and process mismatches at runtime. This paper describes mediation in IRS-III, a framework and platform for developing WSMO-based Semantic Web Services. We present our approach to mediation within Semantic Web Services and highlight the role of WSMO mediator types when solving mi...

متن کاملTowards the Semantic Grid: Enriching Content for Management and Reuse
Knowledge and Semantic Web technologies are evolving the Grid towards the Semantic Grid [18] to facilitate knowledge reuse and collaboration within a community of practice. In the Geodise project we are exploring the application of a range of knowledge and Semantic Web technologies to assist users in solving complex problems in Engineering Design Search and Optimization (EDSO), in particular en...
متن کاملAn Ontology-Based Knowledge Network to Reuse Inter-Organizational Knowledge
Researchers have developed various types of Knowledge Management approaches that only focus on managing organizational knowledge. However, these designs are inadequate because employees are often needed to access knowledge from other knowledge sources in order to complete their works. Therefore, a new interorganizational Knowledge Management practice is required to enhance the sharing of knowle...
